A random collection of things we noticed or experienced this week.
- Most people have their own towel that they bring to the bathroom for drying their hands (at schools, offices, etc).
- Even though stoplights here are red, yellow and green, a green light is called blue light.
- The turn lane always gets a green (or blue) arrow after the light turns red. (America needs to adopt this idea).
- After the rice fields are harvested bright red flowers pop up. (We’ll take pictures and post them soon).
- Finding oatmeal in a grocery store here is an ordeal. We looked forever and then asked a worker who then asked the manager who then asked other employees. We left the store without oatmeal.
- At intersections all the lights turn red for three seconds before the light turns green (blue).
- For some reason homemade brownies in Japan don’t taste very good.
