Dr`s visit

Well, this morning was my first Dr appointment here.  I`m really not sure how I feel about it.

This is at a small clinic and basically there are no appointments, you just go and then you have to wait and wait and wait.  My ILs left this morning at 8 to stick my name on the list (like going to a restuarant, first come first served).  They managed to get me down as the first spot, so once they came back home we waited around for a little while before heading back off.  We arrived probably around 850 and there were already quite a few people.  By 9 (when they offically open) they were pretty much packed (of course a lot of the women came with husbands and small children so that probably didn`t help much).

I guess the Dr had a delivery or some other sort of problem this morning before starting (according to MIL at 8am, there was a women who came in clutching her belly so she thought she might have been having a miscarriage but she might have been delivering the baby also, sometimes its hard to tell how far along the tiny Japanese women are).  The nurses started helping out though measuring all the women`s bellies 1 by 1 (in a separate room).  When the Dr finally came downstairs (about 9:20) I was the first to go in.  The first thing that surprised me is that this is the first time I haven`t had to strip down and have the Dr give me an internal.  Kind of a nice feeling (especially since I was a bit nervous as I showered last night, as is done at the ILs instead of in the morning so was a bit worried that down there wouldn`t quite smell so nice).

The baby is now 2300 g and I am up to 65kg (up 12kg since becoming pregnant).  The Dr didn`t say anything about my weight at all and said everything seems perfect and on track and to come again in 2 weeks.  I still no absolutely nothing about what is going to be happening delivery wise but supposedly that will be a longer talk for the next time we go.  cutting it pretty short as I will be about 37 weeks then.  Still making me a bit nervous.

Tomorrow we are heading to the family shrine (FIL`s side) to pay our respects and probably “show” my belly to the ancestors.  We get to do the same thing on Monday with MILs side.
